Privacy Policy

Yardstomp (the “operator”) runs Yardstomp (the “service”) as a static web app that needs no account. Board editing, saving and dimension calculations happen inside your browser, and board contents are not sent to any server managed by the operator.
This policy explains what the service stores in your browser and what may be passed to outside services when you use certain features.
At a glance
- There is no sign-up or login. Optional catalog reports may include a reply email.
- Your boards and images added to custom equipment stay only in this browser. Separately submitted reports and contribution photos follow the section below.
- When you create a link with “Share”, the link containing your board may be sent to the URL shortener is.gd.
- Usage analytics are collected with Google Analytics 4. You can turn them off in the More (⋯) menu, and browsers that send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal are not measured.
- Some purchase links are affiliate links, and the operator may earn a commission when you buy through them.
Information stored in your browser
The service stores the following in your browser’s storage (IndexedDB and localStorage). It is not sent to the operator, and the operator cannot view or recover it.
- Boards and the board list: board name, board and equipment, dimensions, layout, cable connections, owned and planned status
- Equipment you enter yourself and images you upload
- Settings: display language, used-market region and your usage analytics choice
- Short-link reuse records: a fingerprint (SHA-256) of the shared link and its is.gd short link, up to 500 entries
Usage analytics (Google Analytics 4)
To improve the service, the following is sent to Google LLC’s Google Analytics 4. Optional photo contributions follow the catalog reports section below.
- Page visits and a fixed set of feature events: catalog search, adding equipment, saving and restoring boards, sharing and importing, image and backup export, planned-purchase changes, retailer link views and clicks, and error types
- Counts grouped into ranges (boards, equipment, planned purchases), equipment type, catalog model ID, retailer type, and app and catalog versions
- Device and browser information and approximate location that Google obtains when processing the request, and the random identifier in the Google Analytics cookie
What analytics never send, and how to opt out
Board names and contents, uploaded images, search terms and raw error messages are never sent. The page address is reduced to the site address and pre-approved campaign values, and the previous page address is reduced to its site address. Advertising storage, ad personalization and Google signals are not used.
Analytics are not collected in the following cases.
- You turned collection off in “Usage analytics settings” in the More (⋯) menu
- Your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal
- Browser storage is unavailable, so your opt-out choice could not be remembered
Hosting and access logs
The service is delivered by Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and catalog files and to protect the site, Cloudflare may process access logs such as IP address, request time and address, and browser information under Cloudflare’s policy. The operator does not use these logs to identify users.
Purchase links, used-market search, ads and outside AI
Purchase links lead to outside sites such as official stores, Coupang, AliExpress and Amazon Japan. Some are affiliate links, and the operator may earn a commission when you buy through them. Affiliate links are labeled “Affiliate” on screen.
“Find used” opens the search results of the chosen marketplace (Mule, Mercari or Reverb) in a new tab. Your search terms are passed in that marketplace’s address.
On desktop, the equipment details may show partner ads matched to the equipment type. Ads are displayed from this site’s own files; the service does not use outside ad scripts or collect personal information for ads. Clicking an ad takes you to the advertiser’s site.
The “AI” feature prepares text that you copy and paste into an outside AI service yourself. The service sends nothing to AI services directly.
After you leave for an outside site, that site’s privacy policy and cookies apply.
Third parties and outside services
The operator does not sell your information. Transfers for the features you choose are described below. The following outside services process information under their own policies when you visit the site or use certain features.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): site hosting and delivery — access logs
- is.gd: link shortening — the board link when you share
- Formspree: optional report intake and notification emails — report contents and context
- Google LLC: optional photo contributions — Google Forms responses, uploaded files and permission
- Google LLC (United States): usage analytics — the information listed under Usage analytics. See Overseas transfer of usage analytics.
Overseas transfer of usage analytics
Usage analytics are transferred abroad as follows.
- Recipient and country: Google LLC (United States)
- Information transferred: the visit and feature-use information listed under Usage analytics, device and browser information, approximate location, and the random identifier in the Google Analytics cookie
- When and how: sent from your browser over the internet (HTTPS) each time you use the service
- Purpose: understanding and improving how the service is used
- Retention: deleted from Google Analytics 14 months after collection. Aggregated reports that do not identify individuals may remain.
- How to refuse: turn collection off in “Usage analytics settings” in the More (⋯) menu. The service works without restriction when it is off.
- Privacy questions to Google: Google Privacy Policy
Catalog reports and optional photo contributions
Reports are currently disabled while service connections and receipt are being checked. The following describes the data flow and retention rules for activation. No Yardstomp account is required; a reply email and photo contributions are optional.
When you press Send, the app sends the following to Formspree to review model/brand requests and image issues.
- A random report ID and type, the applicable brand/unknown flag, model name, optional example model and image issue type
- The description, reference URL and reply email you choose to enter
- The applicable public model ID and image path, catalog/app versions when known, entry point, interface language, client creation time, schema version and a spam-prevention field
Custom equipment, the current board name, layout, share links and local photos are not attached automatically. The page referrer sent to Formspree contains only the site origin, without a full path, query parameters or share hash. An operator compares Formspree submissions and notification emails before review. Receipt does not guarantee registration, an image replacement, a reply or a completion date.
After a model or image report is received, you may open Google Forms in a new tab to contribute photos. Brand receipts have no photo link. Uploading requires a Google login. Even with the email-collection question off, submitting an upload records the Google account name, email and profile photo. These account details are for intake processing, not catalog publication. The app prefills only the report ID, public model ID when available, brand, model name and interface language. It does not put your description, email, reference URL or full page address in that link.
The photo form receives the report/model details you confirm, images you select, optional notes and required photo permission. An operator matches Google Forms responses and files in the operating account’s Google Drive by report ID. Photos are reviewed after you confirm you took them and have permission to provide them, and agree that Yardstomp may crop, remove backgrounds and resize them for use in its web catalog and board images. Yardstomp may include affiliate purchase links. Opening the external form does not complete a photo submission, and the app cannot read its actual completion status.
Drafts stay only in the current page’s memory. Only the latest successful report’s ID, type, public model ID, brand, model name and optional example model are stored in the tab’s sessionStorage. Descriptions, reply emails and reference URLs are not stored there. Report contents are not included in board saves, sharing, PNGs or analytics events.
Text reports, reply emails and photo-intake Google account names, emails and profile photos held by the operator are deleted within 90 days after processing is completed. Account identifiers are kept separately from original photos and permission records. Original photos and permission records are kept until the relevant image is no longer used. Information is deleted when its collection purpose has ended. The same rules apply to that content in operating emails and processing records; they do not extend a provider’s retention or guarantee a minimum storage period. Providers’ own retention, spam and limit policies, including the free Formspree history, follow their settings and policies.
Send questions about reports, photo use or deletion to contact@yardstomp.com, with the report ID. An ID is for matching reports; it is not proof of identity or permission to publish photos. The operator checks requests against the original report and photo permission.
Retention and deletion
Board and custom equipment information stored in your browser remains until you delete it. You can delete it with the board delete feature or by clearing the site’s data in your browser. The operator keeps no copies.
The operator’s report/photo retention rules are in the catalog reports section above. Information processed by is.gd, Formspree, Google and Cloudflare themselves follows each service’s retention policy.
Your choices and rights
Yardstomp does not create its own member accounts. You can view, change and delete board and custom equipment information stored in your browser directly in the service and your browser. Questions and deletion requests for reports and photo-intake information follow the catalog reports section above. You can turn usage analytics off or on again at any time in the More (⋯) menu.
Send questions and requests about personal information to the contact below. The operator will respond without delay as required by applicable law.
Security measures
The service uses a Content Security Policy (CSP) to block outside scripts that are not allowed. is.gd shortening runs in an isolated frame separate from the app, so is.gd cannot access your browser storage or board data.
